A part of the country with declining population may benefit from the corona in the long run If I am a rural economic development person I am touting the rural life with ads in every metro area. The work from home concept is likely to be a more permanent approach as some companies discover that it is cheaper and can be just as effective. Centralized servers allow you to monitor work station where ever you are at. Clearly rural counties and cities have the least corona issue...s--as they were in the SARS--- and the next 'plague' will likely be the same. Families are safer in so many ways in rural areas in general from crime to gangs there are just less or nearly none. When I served as budget director in Kansas I asked staff to reach out to rural counties to check on availability of office space and got a incredible amount of response including offering free space for state jobs. To me the advantages were obvious: 1) the state saved money; 2) it allocated taxpayer funding in a better way instead of sending so much of it to Topeka where it was used to build up the city 3) it put state jobs and state salaries where it would make a huge difference both for the town and the workers. A state salary and benefits in most rural towns would allow for a far better standard of living 4) those towns would benefit greatly from the new property tax and sales tax revenues even if the work space was free 5) it diffused the congregation of workers in a way that would eventually turn Topeka into something other than a "government town". The pork that built up in Topeka was nothing short of astounding as I found for example Sebelius' friends had special leases with government agencies that were many times what a top flight space in a rural town would cost. Nearly 80 counties offered up space for free or at really low costs. As someone who had set up a multi state CPA firm the logistics were not difficult. The politics were impossible. State workers unlike the private sector believe they control the agencies and had the right to stay where they were at no matter how much more it cost the taxpayer. The Democrats---which is about all that represent Topeka---were willing to torpedo any cost savings to keep it a government town and by extension Democrat. Private companies don't have those issues. They will miss a huge opportunity if they don't look at the rural areas after this corona shutdown.

China is back in business---and what that potentially means for us "Xin Guobin, vice minister of industry and information technology, said Monday that 98.6% of major industrial companies across China have resumed operations with nearly 90% of their employees back to work. More than three-quarters of China’s small- and medium-size businesses have also resumed operations." While I am not a conspiracy type, the world and specifically the free world should reconsider their relati...onships with China. China was aware as early as 2007 through Chinese think tank studies that there were versions of the Covid in certain wild animals including bats. That same study noted that the consumption of those bats was a "ticking time bomb". Did China purposely loose this evil on the world. Indirectly I would say YES! If these disease outbreaks in China from birds to swine to human viruses were not a reoccurring issue one could be more tolerant of the Chinese government's approach. The Chinese government is able to control the rest of their population with an iron hand including incarcerating around 1 million Uighurs without more than a mild 'meow' from their masses. Why did they not order the end to the cultural practices that have generated not only their human but also their semi-regularly occurring agriculture disease disasters? When one considers the bell curve of possible reasons that any human decision making entity---in this case the Chinese Communist Party leadership---would not act on these outbreaks it distributes in a pretty narrow band of possibilities. At one end of that decision process is possibly they can't enforce it and rebellion would occur. I will admit that is always a possibility when a Party of less than 1 million rules over 1.4 billion. The Uighur situation and their ability to crack down on dissidents makes me inclined to believe this is only a minor part of the equation. I will concur the Hong Kong situation might up the amount of weight it might carry. At the other end of that spectrum is that they are perfectly comfortable with these cycles of disease outbreaks. Deaths among their own population have been seen as a necessary process of 'perfecting' the collectivism of socialism ruled by an elite bureaucracy since Mao took power. The advantages that China has of now being the sole world economic engine that is open for business should not be underestimated. They will be continuing to appear to be benevolent as they 'assist' those countries their cultural practices poisoned in an attempt to lull the world back to complacency towards their power grabs. Trump properly assessed China's threat to siphon off US wealth and key industries but I fear he and the rest of the world underestimate how 'cold blooded' these Communists will be in advancing their cause.

Initial Corona Virus Estimates Exposes One of the Climate Change Hoax Sources

Initial Corona Virus Estimates Exposes One of the Climate Change Hoax Sources I have caught flack for my stance on climate change modeling especially calling into question some of the sources' motives. I hope that people will start to understand a bit about the amount of "biased" modeling that is being done at Imperial College. Most by now know they are the source of "2 million will die in the United States" claim which they now have had to back off of as people have opened... their eyes to the junior high level of modeling that was done. This is the same 'College' that has fed the Climate Change panic. The site would not let me link is so you can read the over the top JUNK that is being spit out by this supposed institute of higher learning. Google/Bing Imperial College and Climate Change and what you will see should give everyone some cause to think twice before they believe this sham of an institution about anything.
